Back in March of 2020, while we were finishing the final mix session of our HBO MAX ‘Originals’ mnemonic, the media began to ominously report on toilet paper, bats, disinfectants and… well… things got weird for awhile.

Typically we like to share company news often, but nothing about the last two years has been typical. The truth is, we’ve had our heads down, working on amazing projects and hadn’t realized that Kill 2 Birds updates had been few and far between. We apologize for that.

OXYGEN IS THE GO-TO DESTINATION FOR BINGING TRUE CRIME PROGRAMMING ON SUNDAYS. IN AN EFFORT TO DRIVE HOME THIS UNIQUE POSITION — AND DRIVE EVEN MORE SUNDAY VIEWERSHIP — K2B WAS TAPPED TO DEVELOP A DISTINCTIVE BRAND IDENTITY FOR THIS PROGRAMMING BLOCK.

RBIJ / CALL TO ACTION + BRANDING

THE RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS INITIATIVE FOR JUSTICE [RBIJ] IS A NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT PARTNERS WITH BUSINESSES TO HELP CHAMPION CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM. THIS ISSUE HAS GAINED ENORMOUS MOMENTUM IN RECENT YEARS, ELEVATING RBIJ’S LEADERSHIP POSITION IN THE FIELD. WITH THIS NEW FOUND EXPOSURE, IT BECAME IMPERATIVE FOR THE RBIJ BRAND TO ELEVATE AS WELL AND THEY REACHED OUT FOR OUR HELP.

IT’S HUMBLING WHEN WE’RE ASKED TO REDESIGN AN ICONIC PIECE OF BRANDING. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE FOR A VISUAL AS EMBLEMATIC AND ENDURING AS THE HBO DOCUMENTARY FILMS LOGO ANIMATION.

NAT GEO / ATLAS OF CURSED PLACES

'ATLAS OF CURSED PLACES’ INVESTIGATES THE WORLD’S MOST ENDURING CURSES — COMBINING CULTURAL EXAMINATION WITH SCIENTIFIC STUDY — TO PROVIDE VIEWERS WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF LONG MISUNDERSTOOD CURSES SUCH AS THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE AND THE CURSE OF THE BAYOU.

THIS CONTENT PROVIDED A PLETHORA OF RICH VISUALS WHILE CHALLENGING OUR TEAM TO FIND BALANCE BETWEEN THE CURSES AND THE SCIENCE. THE RESULTING DESIGN PACKAGE IS A COLLECTION OF DARK, MOODY IMAGERY, INFUSED WITH DETAILED GEOMETRIC, MATHEMATICAL, AND INFORMATIONAL ELEMENTS.

EUREKA PRODUCTIONS, THROUGH OUR FRIENDS AT HBO MAX, TAPPED K2B TO CREATE A UNIQUE MAIN TITLE AND PROMO PACKAGE FOR THEIR NEW SERIES ‘FULL BLOOM’.

THE FIRST-OF-IT’S-KIND COMPETITION SHOW PITS ASPIRING FLORAL DESIGNERS AGAINST ONE ANOTHER IN HOPES OF WINNING $100K IN PRIZES. THE SHOW FEATURES THREE LARGER-THAN-LIFE JUDGES FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE, HELPING TO GUIDE THE CONTESTANTS TOWARD THEIR DREAM OF OWNING THEIR OWN FLORAL BUSINESS.
