Our frequent collaborators and dynamic directing duo ‘The Joelsons’ invited us to assist in realizing their vision for the spot. Their objective was to capture as much content in camera as possible, but subsequently work with Kill 2 Birds to provide a signature visual aesthetic and add photo-real vfx accentuations where necessary.
Two oversized, identical busts — cast from 3D models — were shot motion control by The Joelsons while an assortment of practical elements was simultaneously shot with a Phantom camera on a separate portion of the stage.
Kill 2 Birds handled pre-shoot look development, VFX shoot supervision, 3D bust scanning, and supervision of the element shoot.
After the shoot, K2B went to work editing the teaser and then partnering with Method to handle the VFX portion — creative directing their teams to help bring the overall aesthetic to life.
Echolab subsequently put the finishing touch on the spot, creating a visceral music and sound design track that perfectly captured the aural tone of the spot’s narrative.
